Review the attorney-routing roster

Keep destinations aligned with current staff responsibility and availability.

01

The operational decision

Keep destinations aligned with current staff responsibility and availability. A reliable intake workflow needs an owner after launch. Staff availability, practice scope and public contact routes change, so the operating record should explain who can update the system and how changes are verified.

02

Prepare the workflow

Assign a roster owner, verify each destination and date the coverage window; remove departed staff promptly from the approved route.

03

Example wording for approval

“The example roster applies only during its stated coverage period. An outdated staff number should be removed before the next routing test.”

04

Worked example

A fictional primary attorney destination changes for a week, while the backup stays the same. Record the coverage dates and verify the temporary destination. Test the route during the temporary period and after restoration. Updating the first number without the end date can leave the wrong person receiving calls indefinitely. The roster owner should also confirm what constitutes a successful connection and which queue owns failed attempts, so the change does not stop at a telephone-number edit.

05

Handoff record

Record these task-specific fields: destination label, coverage window, roster owner, verification date.

06

Acceptance check

Change a fictional on-call assignment. The next test should reach the new approved destination and stop attempting the retired one.
