Resources / Calendar verification

Test timezone conversion for consultation slots

Verify that the caller-facing time and staff calendar refer to the same instant.

01

The operational decision

Verify that the caller-facing time and staff calendar refer to the same instant. A calendar integration should be evaluated as a sequence of actual operations, not as a connected badge. Availability, booking, changes and failure handling each need their own expected result.

02

Prepare the workflow

Use fictional participants in two timezones and compare the displayed date, offset and calendar entry; include a date-boundary case.

03

Example wording for approval

“The example time is displayed with its timezone. Staff should confirm that the calendar entry and caller message describe the same meeting time.”

04

Worked example

Create a fictional slot at 11:30 p.m. in one timezone and inspect its date in the office timezone. A conversion can shift the day even when the clock time looks plausible. Compare the user-facing message, stored timestamp and provider calendar entry. Include a timezone change in the test fixture rather than assuming a device's default is correct. The outcome is a verified scheduling instant; it does not determine whether the firm has accepted the underlying inquiry.

05

Handoff record

Record these task-specific fields: caller zone, office zone, slot timestamp, result.

06

Acceptance check

Choose a slot near midnight in one timezone. The test passes only when the correct calendar date appears in both relevant views.
