The operational decision
Describe the firm's approved services without claiming every inquiry can be handled. A law-firm website should help visitors understand the public service scope and choose a clear next step. Marketing copy, buttons and form confirmations all need to match the actual intake and review process.
Prepare the workflow
Use factual practice descriptions and a clear request route; leave legal strategy, outcome promises and individualized recommendations out of the page.
Example wording for approval
“The example firm describes this practice area for general information. Staff review each inquiry before confirming any consultation or representation arrangement.”
Worked example
A fictional practice page says the firm handles every business dispute, while the approved directory lists a narrower set of services. Replace the broad claim with the firm's approved description and a clear inquiry route. Do not add outcome promises to make the page more persuasive. Ask the firm reviewer whether a visitor could reasonably read the page as guaranteed acceptance of a particular matter. The final copy should invite review without making the assistant or website decide that question.
Handoff record
Record these task-specific fields: practice label, approved description, request route, reviewer.
Acceptance check
Ask whether the page guarantees the firm will take a specific matter. The wording should support only a request for review, not an acceptance promise.
