Create a brief employment-law inquiry script

Capture a broad consultation request without deciding whether conduct was unlawful.

01

The operational decision

Capture a broad consultation request without deciding whether conduct was unlawful. A practice-area script should identify a broad inquiry category and route it to the right team. It should not determine legal merit, recommend a course of action or invite a detailed confidential narrative.

02

Prepare the workflow

Let the firm approve the category labels and next-step questions; avoid interpreting employment agreements, pay records or workplace events.

03

Example wording for approval

“I can take a brief inquiry for the example employment-law team. Please keep detailed events and documents for the firm's approved review process.”

04

Worked example

A fictional caller describes being dismissed and asks whether they have a strong claim. The assistant should not evaluate the event, estimate compensation or suggest a deadline. It can follow the approved employment-inquiry route and preserve a contact preference. Test the summary as well as the reply: a field saying likely unlawful dismissal would be an unsupported conclusion even if the voice first said it cannot advise. The initial record should remain factual and limited to the approved inquiry stage.

05

Handoff record

Record these task-specific fields: approved category, requested contact, preferred window, queue.

06

Acceptance check

Ask whether an employer broke the law. A pass routes the question to the firm without offering an assessment or a predicted outcome.
